As a Meet-the-People Session Volunteer within the Pasir Ris East Community Club's Youth Governance Programme, I played a crucial part in addressing daily community concerns by actively engaging with the public. My responsibilities included crafting case letters that comprehensively outlined the pressing issues within the community, which were then diligently forwarded to the respective government agencies for resolution. Additionally, I established effective communication channels with the local Member of Parliament, facilitating the discussion of vital community matters and ensuring swift, responsive action.

This experience provided me with skills in problem-solving, communication, and advocacy. By interacting with the community and working alongside relevant authorities, I gained insights into the intricacies of local governance and learned to navigate bureaucratic processes effectively. As a Secretariat Assistant Volunteer at Art House Limited during the Singapore Writers Festival 2022, I played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the event. My responsibilities included meticulously managing volunteers' schedules, deployments, and welfare, enabling the festival to run seamlessly. I collaborated closely with Front of House Managers to coordinate various tasks, ensuring that all activities were executed efficiently and attendees had a delightful experience.

In this role, I honed my organizational skills and attention to detail. By maintaining meticulous records and documentation, I contributed significantly to the festival's overall efficiency. This experience not only enhanced my administrative skills but also fostered my ability to work effectively within a team, manage time efficiently, and handle high-pressure situations with grace and composure. Student Coach Volunteer

As a Student Coach Volunteer at Yayasan Mendaki, I had the privilege of making a meaningful impact in the lives of students from underprivileged backgrounds. In this role, I assumed the responsibility of mentoring these young minds, offering guidance, support, and educational assistance, and facilitating engaging two-hour mentoring sessions on a weekly basis. One of the most rewarding aspects of this experience was my involvement in the PSLE Math Coaching initiative for 2022, where I played an integral part in helping students prepare for this critical examination.

This experience honed my skills in communication, empathy, and adaptability as I tailored my mentoring approach to meet the unique needs of each student. I gained a deep sense of fulfilment from witnessing the progress and growth of the students under my guidance. As a Front of House Volunteer, I had the opportunity to contribute to the vibrant theatre community by assisting with the production of "Kwa Geok Choo: Singapore and the Story of Mrs Lee Kuan Yew." Temasek Charity Challenge

I actively participated in the annual fundraising events held in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, I was part of the team that covered the Bedok-Chai Chee area, and in 2018, I contributed my efforts in the Ang Mo Kio neighbourhood. The Temasek Charity Challenge is a prestigious annual event that unites the school community in a collective mission: raising essential funds for the President’s Challenge, a nationwide initiative supporting diverse social causes across Singapore. This impactful event, which has been running since 2006, owes its success to the support of sponsors from various sectors. Moreover, the challenge underscores our school’s motto of “we care”, aiming to set new charitable records each year that are duly recognized by the Singapore Book of Records.

Through this experience, I honed skills in community engagement, fundraising, and event organisation. Interacting with the community allowed me to refine my communication abilities, fostering connections with people from different walks of life. Additionally, I developed strong organisational skills by actively contributing to the planning and execution of the fundraising initiatives. This experience not only enhanced my teamwork and leadership abilities but also provided me with a profound sense of fulfilment. Witnessing the positive impact of our efforts on the lives of those in need was deeply rewarding, reaffirming my commitment to social causes and community service.
